Energy Efficient Construction

The research on Energy Efficient Construction focuses on solutions for residential design improved by means of high technology and the use of "active" means such as electricity production through the use of solar roof paneling or photovoltaic facades, informing projects such as A.B. 6 and T.S. 11 in Germany. By this definition, it is contrasted by a parallel research program in our office that looks at Bioclimatic Architecture and the use of "passive" means such as shading control through overhanging roofs or natural ventilation, informing projects such as Sustainable Housing or the Sustainable Construction Norm in Costa Rica.
