Core House Toolbox

The Core House is a study on prefabricated homes designed for the tropical climate. Different "S, M, L, XL" configurations are explored, resulting in a variety of prototypes ranging from cabins sized 36 square meters to comfortable homes of 180 square meters.

The research project is building on the results of our research on energy efficient construction and bioclimatic architecture. The architectural design is a low-tech response to the extreme climate and site conditions. The open plan floor spaces are grouped around a compact service core, allowing for a 360 degree view exposure onto the surrounding landscape.
