The first prototype of the No Footprint House (NFH) will go into production by the end of this year. The NFH-108 will be prefabricated in the Central Valley of Costa Rica before being shipped to its final destination in Ojochal, which is located in the tropical rainforest along the Southern Pacific Coast. The bioclimatic architecture of the NFH is optimized for the local humid climate.
Further explorations of the NFH toolbox are planned for mid-2016 with the construction of the NFH-81 and the NFH-36. The toolbox design of the project elements allows for different configurations according to user and site needs, while maintaining its integrally sustainable design principles in terms of engineering, economic, environmental and social concerns.
