There was a widespread press echo of BicipúbliCartago; the majority of articles emphasize the importance of the project to help solving the congestion and environmental pollution problematics in Costa Rica’s cities, especially within its Greater Metropolitan Area. Also, the positive health aspects that the Sustainable Mobility campaign focuses on are being emphasized. Some of the articles further explain the detailed functioning of the bicycle rental system in Cartago and call for other municipalities to repeat the joined efforts in this pioneer project made by the Municipality of Cartago, the Dutch Embassy, and A Foundation. For example, see La Nacion, Today Costa Rica, the Central America LIVE! blog, BS Noticias or CRHOY with their foto of the day. Furthermore, the project was widely spread and commented on in social media sites with its official Facebook page instantly rising to more than 5000 likes.
Costa Rica Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2014 (Press Selection in Spanish)
An extensive article about the Costa Rica Pavilion was presented at Plataforma Arquitectura, while Fox News Latino called it "a dynamic project that invites the audience to participate in Costa Rica's modernization throughout the last 100 years". Another article was published by Revista Construir; a virtual tour can be taken at Arkired. Costa Rica's leading newspaper La Nación has based its feature article on an interview with commissioners / curators Oliver Schütte and Marije van Lidth de Jeude, co-founders of A-01. La Nación also published about the pavilion in relation to the winning proposal of the new Legislative Assembly competition, which is showcased in Venice alongside 70 selected historic buildings in the the center of Costa Rica's capital San José. The first national pavilion in the history of Costa Rica -directed and curated by A-01- was mentioned as "some of the most promising inaugural pavilions at the 2014 Venice Architecture Biennale" by BlouinArtinfo. A virtual tour of the pavilion was published by Arch Daily. More information on the content of the pavilion can be viewed in My Art Guide. The pavilion was inaugurated on June 6, 2014 and can be visited till November 23, 2014.
